PELHAM, GEORGIA

POPULATION: 3.500+

Pelham is a small town located in Mitchell County in Southwest Georgia. The city is named after Major John Pelham, a “boy artillerist” who died after the Battle of Kelly’s Ford during the American Civil War. Pelham was incorporated on January 1, 1881, and today nearly 4,000 people call the small town home. In 2005, a movie entitled “Prayers from Pelham” was released. This fictional story was set in Pelham, GA and tells the story about Aaron and his dying Aunt Enid. Shortly after a rumor spreads around Pelham claiming that his Aunt Enid will personally deliver prayers to Heaven after she passes, comical chaos ensues, and Aaron finds himself surrounded by lots of people eager to use Aunt Enid’s services. It’s definitely a must-see!
