Springfield is a small town located in Effingham County in Southeast Georgia, where it is the county seat. On the last day of the year in 1838, this city named after a local mineral spring was incorporated. This small town is filled with an abundance of history and still has historic homes, the original courthouse, a Living History Site and Museum, and other historic structures throughout the town. Today, around 4,000 people call Springfield, “A place where what’s close to your heart still matters,” their home!
