Sylvania, Georgia is a small town located in Screven county, where it is the county seat and prospectively placed between Savannah and Augusta. Incorporated in 1850, it hosts the Nation’s oldest and operating state Welcome Center and tourists from all over make the trek through historic U.S. Hwy 301 to visit the Revolutionary War landmark, Brier Creek Battle Site! Although Sylvania welcomes all of the new things coming to their small town, they still value and appreciate the southern charm of the original architecture and history. Today, over 2,000 people call Sylvania home, and it is truly a "Great Place to Visit and a Better Place to Live"!
