Twin City, GA is a small town located in Emanuel County in East Central Georgia. A “Little City with Big History,” Twin City’s unique name comes from two former cities, Graymont and Summit. Prior to 1921, the neighboring towns of Graymont and Summit were separate municipalities. However, to survive the effects of natural disasters and The Great Depression, the two cities merged into one in 1921. Thus, the town of Twin City was born.
Currently, approximately 1,760 people reside in Twin City, a town “twice as friendly and twice as nice.” Home to George L. Smith State Park and a 255-acre historic district, it’s the perfect destination for both history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts. You can admire a plethora of architectural styles including Queen Anne, Fold Victorian, and Craftsman and kayak down the state park’s peaceful mill pond, all in Twin City!
